Scarlett Johansson is this year's only double nominee (at the Golden Globes). Her reaction: "It's the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. I'm so proud of all the nominations that both films have received. I'm still shaking in my shoes here on the set in Italy."

So apparently shooting for 'A Good Woman' hasn't yet wrapped.

And the official site for 'The Perfect Score' has opened: Click here. The US release date has been postponed to January 30.

Yes, Scarlett has been nominated twice for a Golden Globe! Both times in the category 'Actress in a Leading Role' - once in the section Drama for her performance in 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' and once in the section Musical or Comedy for her performance in 'Lost in Translation'. Both films also earned other nominations. (GwaPE: Original Score / LiT: Best Picture - Musical or Comedy, Actor in a Leading Role - Musical or Comedy, Director, Screenplay)

To see all the nominations click here. The 61st Golden Gobe Awards will be presented live on NBC Sunday January 25th 2004 8:00 PM EST

I know this is very short notice, but Scarlett will appear today on 'The Sharon Osbourne Show':
- 11 a.m. on Channel 56
- 1 p.m. on WPIX
- 4 p.m. on Channel 64

And Scarlett's winning!!
She won the Boston Society of Film Critics Award as Best Actress and the New York Film Critics Online Award as Best Supporting Actress. Both awards honour her performance in 'Lost in Translation'. Congratulations!

Reminder: Tonight, Scarlett will appear on NBC, Late Night with Conan O'Brian

Also Steven Flores sent me a report on Friday's appearance on the Kilborn show:

Scarlett was hilarious. She talked about her recent wave of fame, sleeping on an airplane from Italy to the U.S. and how she misses her Special K breakfast, which she is bringing to Italy as her alternative diet to pasta. She also talked about a bit about her dad, who is remodeling her apartment, who has sinuses and how she'll go eat Chinese food on the day of the Golden Globes, if she's nominated.

She also made the 5 Questions Hall of Fame with the following questions that she got all of them right:
1. Identify this U.S. State (Idaho)
2. Spell her last name backwards (Nossnahoj)
3. Name 5 Bill Murray movies in 10 seconds (she got all five, barely, Stripes, Ghostbusters, What About Bob? Rushmore, and Groundhog Day).
4. Think of one Xmas song and then, think of another (She thought of "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night"
5. Throw a fruitcake into the trash-bin with number of tries she can do (She says 3 but got it in the first try).

Also, the Independent Film Channel got a special 5-minute making of feature on Girl with a Pearl Earring that includes interviews and outtakes with Scarlett. It sometimes comes on between movies and specials.

And last but not least, 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' grossed $90,000 in seven theaters in the U.S. which is impressive for its small, limited showing.

Thank you very much Steven for all your information!

Apparently, Scarlett already has another project coming up: an adaption of Herman Wouk's 1955 novel "Marjorie Morningstar," about a young Jewish actress from New York. Her mother gave the book to Johansson for her 17th birthday and she read it on the set of "Girl With a Pearl Earring." One day she called her mother, exclaiming, "I'm Marjorie Morningstar!". "The woman who had the rights to it had been trying to shop it around with Natalie Portman and a whole bunch of people attached," says Johansson. "She could never make it work. So I said, 'Look, give me a chance, let's work it out, I want to get this made.'" The film is now to be developed at Focus. Johansson is attached to star and she's even helping pick the screenwriter. From the new Variety article. (Funny, Natalie Portman was as good as cast for 'The Horse Whisperer' before she rejected the role and Scarlett came aboard. And now the two are again mentioned together)

And 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' opens in New York and Los Angeles. There are some new articles:

Please don't forget the TV Appearances of Scarlett (see Monday news or calendar) this month. Even if you're only able to tape them, let me know. I could then find someone else to make video files for the site.

Krzysztof and Mads Andersen made new wallpapers, thank you very much:
Other new pictures from films and 2 pictures from the December issue of Premiere magazine:

New articles are out, I'll add them soon.

Tuesday, December 9: 7.00 am CBS Early Show

Steven Flores also informed me that throughout December an interview with Scarlett about ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ is being shown at the Independent Film Channel (IFC) ‘At the Angelika.

Everyone who gets these film channels: I hope you watch and enjoy it. But as there are many others – including me – who don’t get them, I ask anyone who has the possibility to do so, could you please make a video file for the site? Or at least Screen Caps? We’d all appreciate it very much. Thanks
