Molly Pruitt // HOME ALONE 3 (1997)

Scarlett's role

Scarlett plays Molly, the middle child of the Pruitt family. It is an unremarkable part in a film where everything is about the action and less - or even next to nothing - about the actors. So, if you saw her in nothing else, you wouldn't guess that she'd be capable of what she does in 'The Horse Whisperer' her next film. Even so, 'Home Alone 3' is her first screen appearance as an adolescent and she's very attractive.

As for Molly, she is seemingly meant to be an intelligent girl, as she speaks with a somewhat pretentious diction - for example, when it's pointed out that Alex has chicken pox sores all over his body, she says something like, 'Would that include his buttock regions?'. Or when Alex gets scolded for false alarm, Molly tells him 'You've stained the family name!' Molly's also a bully, though in this behaviour she seems to be following older brother Stan, who's the worse bully. However, as expected from this kind of film, brother and sister both have a change of heart, and rally to Alex's defense. This is the only scene where Scarlett has something like a 'moment'.
based on the review of George Russell
